Voidcaller is an Android dialer for people who find the stock one cluttered. The entire product is an argument for less: fewer features, no advertising, no tracking, and an interface that gets out of the way of the only thing anyone opens a dialer to do.
A monochrome interface designed screen by screen, in the spirit of Nothing OS: dot-matrix lettering, pill-shaped tabs, and a palette of black, white and one accent. The dialer, contacts, call log and settings each earn their place and nothing else was allowed in.
Movement carries the navigation instead of chrome. Tabs slide, sheets rise, and the transitions are quick enough to feel like the phone responding rather than an animation playing.
Designing something this reduced means every decision is exposed. With no colour to fall back on, hierarchy has to come from type weight, spacing and contrast alone, and any element that cannot justify itself simply has to go.
